When it comes to turning a house into a home, few are as passionate and dedicated as Tommy Pasque, the founder of Light Oak Homes. With a strong background in engineering, real estate, and entrepreneurship, Tommy has built Light Oak Homes into a trusted name in residential real estate development in Colorado.
Tommy’s Background and Role at Light Oak Homes
Tommy’s journey into real estate development was driven by a unique blend of experience and passion. "I have a background in engineering, real estate, and various startup businesses," Tommy shares. "I started investing in real estate development and, after doing so, found a different kind of enjoyment from the process compared to other businesses I’ve been involved in."
It wasn’t just about the business for Tommy; it was about creating something lasting and meaningful. "I also identified that doing our own 'in-house' projects, coupled with client projects, was a great way to expand our offering to the market, learn new things, and keep our team involved in a healthy volume of exciting projects."
Today, Tommy plays a hands-on role in every aspect of the business. "I focus on identifying and bringing in new projects, both in-house and client-side projects," he explains. "I’m involved in everything from day-to-day planning and construction management to financing and budget analysis."
Managing multiple projects simultaneously is no small feat, but Tommy has a system in place that keeps everything on track. "We communicate with various tools like Slack and Google Suite to stay ahead of potential issues. We strive to know our clients as well as our team and subcontractors. It’s not just about building homes; it’s about doing a great job and caring about the people involved."
Approach to Project Management and Oversight
Tommy’s approach to project management is rooted in clear communication and thorough planning. "We communicate timelines and schedules each week to our team and our clients so we can reduce surprises and limit delays," Tommy notes. This proactive approach ensures that everyone involved in a project is on the same page, which is crucial for maintaining efficiency and quality.
To keep track of progress, Tommy relies on a combination of project management tools and effective communication channels. "We utilize various project management tools as well as Slack as a communication tool. Our team leads and clients are in project-specific channels, so everyone remains informed about progress and next steps."
Quality is a top priority for Light Oak Homes, and Tommy is constantly looking for ways to improve. "We’re always seeking to enhance our layouts, finishes, and the end product. This comes from listening to clients about what they want both for functionality and for the look and feel. For our in-house projects, we work as a team to blend new ideas with our own style and preferences."
Vision for the Future of Light Oak Homes
Looking ahead, Tommy has an ambitious vision for Light Oak Homes. "Light Oak will have multiple companies that serve our overall goal and mission," he shares. "We have 1-year, 3-year, 5-year, and 10-year revenue targets, and to hit those, we will combine in-house projects that we own, client-side work, real estate transactions, and the management of Light Oak Capital."
Nonprofit Goals
But Tommy’s vision isn’t just about business growth. He’s also passionate about giving back. "We have a heart to start a non-profit organization called Light Oak Core. Light Oak Core will be a land project that includes a for-profit events business coupled with a non-profit organization that gives the property back to other non-profit organizations."
Expansion, Innovation, Sustainability
Tommy is particularly excited about the diverse range of projects Light Oak Homes is currently undertaking. "We are working all across Colorado, from the Front Range to the mountains," he says. "Each project has its own unique excitement — whether it’s a barndominium, a multi-home land project, or large remodels with additions. We look forward to the future opportunities that come our way!"
When it comes to innovation and sustainability, Tommy emphasizes a philosophy of doing things right. "We have a refined process for selecting markets and areas through our network of real estate contacts and Light Oak Realty. Our philosophy is to do the work as if you are going to live in it yourself. Don’t cut corners, select materials that align with the projected value of the home, and always strive to do the right thing. The rest seems to fall in line after that."
Houses to Homes, Transformed with Intention
Tommy Pasque’s leadership is the driving force behind Light Oak Homes' success. His dedication to quality, innovation, and client satisfaction sets Light Oak Homes apart in the competitive world of real estate development. As Tommy and his team continue to expand and take on new challenges, their commitment to excellence remains unwavering.
